“Can this thermostat switch from gas heat to electric AC? In virginia we may have a hot day where AC is needed then it gets cold enough at night to need heat. Currently we forget to switch it at night and wake up freezing.”

Hi Brandon! The Lyric T5 Wi-Fi thermostat does have an Auto Changeover feature allowing the thermostat to switch between heating and cooling based on your desired set points. This can be enabled in the Device Setup. To access the Device Setup press and hold Menu device Device Setup appears. Select Device Setup then press the right arrow until function 300 Auto Changeover appears, press edit, press the arrow to change the option from Off to On, press Done to save, and press back twice to return to the main screen. After returning to the main screen press mode until Auto appears above Mode, Auto Chng. On will also appear in the upper right hand corner. Hope this helps!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think it would have a problem switching. I have elec/elec, but when I set it up, it had the option for each AC / heat type, so I'd guess that it could be set up in such a way.
