“I have 2 stage heat pump with back-up electric heat so I have 3 heating stages and 2 cooling stages. Is this thermostat compatable with my system? Is there an option for an outdoor temperture sensor”

It does not come with an outdoor temperature sensor, but can use its WiFi connection to determine your location and access some weather source to get a local outside temperature. During initial setup, you will have the option to select multistage cooling and heating systems. I can't remember if there was a limit to the number it can control, but I know its compatible with emergency heat as that's how I have it set up.

Yes the Honeywell - Lyric™ T5 Wi-Fi Thermostat is compatible with your system type, however this unit is not compatible for a sensor, but since this is a Wi-Fi thermostat it has full access to the weather in your area, allowing you to lock out your heat pump based on current weather conditions.
