I use reverse osmosis in mine and using distilled water helps prolong the machine so you don’t getineral build up. In the tutorial video you can use tap water but I think distilled would ven best.

You can. Distilled water will extend the life of the unit as it doesn't have the impurities that are in tap water. But it isn't necessary.
