This could be due to your filter being completely plugged up. When it's plugged the motor and fan will overspeed because it's not moving any air. Clean it's filter out completely. Use a small 1" paint brush that won't damage the filter to brush the dust off the surface of it's fliter. My guess is this is all your problem is.
