Hello Gary, It is perfectly safe to charge the battery prior to draining the entire charge. These batteries will last for approximately 300 full cycles or 600 half cycles. Thank you! The Hoover Team

But I would like to say that I think one of the two is better than the other one. I would have liked to trade it in but thisCovid thing has made it a hassle with Best Buy to do anything! I'd love another opinion on the battery situation as to draining it. Thank you
