After cleaning mine for the first time and putting the brushes back on, I realized one brush is a little longer than the other. Try switching the brushes.

First, you will want to make sure that the leaning is reclined and not in the upright position to ensure that the brushroll will engage. Then, if the roller still fails to rotate, you will need to check for clogging within the unit. It could be likely that there is something stock in the nozzle that is preventing the brushes from engaging.
