“It was sold out so I said send me an email when back in stock. Why weren’t we locked in for the 99.99 price. That’s what other companies do when things are on back order.”

Did you ask for a "Rain Check", or offer to prepay at the Sale price? Did you ask for anything to protect or guarantee the special price? If not, then you do not get "Rain Check" price..it works like this at the grocery store too.
