I've had to replace 2 brand new units now due to defective battery issues. We bought 2, one has worked fine for two weeks now, the second unit we've replaced and it still will not turn on after charging. I am now returning both and wont buy again.

It could be bad luck where you got 2 defective ones. First one i bought worked as intended. 
Also try plugging something else (like a light or vacuum or anything else that is obvious when powered on) into the outlet you charged it with to make sure the outlet isnt the problem.

Try a replacement, I had issues with the product originally.
