It depends on which Mac. The closest one to it is the MacBook Air. The MacBook Air 13.3" starts at $999, has 8GB of Ram, and 128GB of flash storage. In terms of longevity, the Mac would last longer, but is much more expensive. Neither you can add Ram (or memory), and the Mac has more storage.
