MemoryStock and another site show this as 2 slots and can be upgraded to 16-GB. $41 for an 8-GB card.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This computer has two memory slots at a total of 16GB or 8GB for each slot. I just purchased this laptop and a 8GB ram stick of 2400 based on what the HP website said and what the HP responses have been. I was initially under the impression it could only be expanded to 8GB with only one slot on the board, but that is incorrect. After taking apart the laptop, I installed the additional ram into the first slot and replaced the original 4GB in the second slot. Total at this time is 12GB per my system info. Interesting thing is that the board has engraved onto it wording of only one memory slot being available. What is also interesting is that the HP website says 2400 for the ram, but the original inside the laptop is 2666. So get the 2666, but the 2400 works too based on what I now have installed.

You can double check by going to the task manager and under performance tab, it will show you the speed. Unfortunately, HP will not allow ram speed adjustment. Their BOIS setup is your basic crappy generic no frills OEM. :(
