Hi Dani, thank you for the question. When initially powered on, you'll be assisted in setting up your laptop. It's an easy process. Using a mouse instead of a trackpad is a personal choice and it depends on how you work. If you're not used to a trackpad, a mouse might be a great choice until you get acclimated.

About the mouse, it really can be used either way. If you're more comfortable using a mouse you can certainly use one, but it's not a requirement.
