Is pretty light and compact, there are definitely smaller and lighter options but for the most part it fits in a tote and/or book bag relatively easy. Just depends how much added weight you plan on carrying...

It is recommended that you also make sure the unit meets the requirements for any software required for the classes. Updates can affect those requirements and that can impact what settings you might use or if you can still run the software at all. This unit also comes with Windows Home 11 in S Mode. S Mode will have to be turned off to download third party applications and that can lower the security of the device. If you would like a recommendation for college, you can take a copy of the software and their requirements to the Best Buy computer team and ask for a recommendation that will best suit your needs.
