“I want to upgrade this laptop to 16GB. How many dimm slots are in the lap top? I am assuming 2. If that is true does it contain 2 4GB dimms or 1 8GB dimm? I guess I am asking what do I need to purchase to get to 16GB?”

You will have to look into hp website by using the serial number and it will tell you how many gb on ram you can use on it.
