Linux runs great on this laptop!

As long it meets the requirements from the developer's site for the software they use, this allows them to have a low-cost option to handle their needs. It is always recommended that you check the developer's site for system requirements for any software you might need to run and make sure that the device you are interested meets the required specifications of the settings you wish to run the software on. Updates can change those requirements and that can affect the settings you can use or if you can run the software at all.

It's very snappy with this version of Linux, especially if you increase the amount of RAM from 4GB to 8GB. It's become my traveling laptop - it's very small with a 14" screen, and at just over 3 pounds, it can be carried in most any daypack or carryon bag.
