No CD. Yes you can play games

To answer your question, no, there is not a CD slot. I am able to play games through Origin on it no problem, and some games on Steam after messing around with the settings. It does tend to get hot when playing games so I got a stand that doubles as a fan to set it on and it makes game play perfect. Hope this helps!
