YES. During the downloading update process, The Google banner states Chromebooks have a built-in virus protection for malware. I am sure it is basic anti-virus or malware and not the one you get like a full version Anti-Virus like one you have to buy.

This device is a Chromebook running ChromeOS for its operating system - it will come with a standard antivirus, but does not come with any additional antivirus software. When purchased online from Best Buy, there are sometimes promotions that include some free trials of antivirus software, so be sure to look out for that.
