That depends on the device, I have an old HP Pavilion laptop I bought 9yrs ago, paid $350 for it, have traveled across the usa and back again with this laptop on a motorcycle and car and it's finally dying on me. Depending on the treatment and the laptop itself, they can last 6 months or 10yrs, hard to say... but mine was used daily.. .
