This laptop has significantly more performance than the Thinkpad. The process is dramatically faster. The NVMe storage is also exponentially faster. It has double the RAM at 8GB. That's still on the short side for me, but should be a major performance increase if you are currently running Windows 10/11 on the Thinkpad.
