Hi Katy, thank you for the question. The majority of the laptop casing is plastic. Shipping to your home does not void the warranty. The parcel should be opened as soon as it arrives so that you can inspect for any damage caused during transit. In that unlikely event, you would reach out to the seller for replacement.
