Most people don't do that, but yes, you can replace the SSD with a 2.5" SATA HDD.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I asked about that at Best Buy when I bought this laptop and they said you can't change the hard drive. They recommend using external drives, but my experience showed you cannot install programs with this laptop to external drives. The operating system hogs up most of the space on the internal drive so if you want to install your own programs you are very limited. In my experience most of my software was rejected and could not be installed or it installed then immediately reversed the installation. Like I said in my review, this is the equivalent of a Chromebook with very limited hard drive space and mostly to be used for internet surfing, and saving data files to the cloud or an external drive. I don't recommend it for anything else unless you are a casual user. However it did allow me to install Microsoft Office 365 which I hate (came with OneDrive) and I only installed because it wouldn't let me install an older version of Office. This laptop blocked most software installations even when I had the space. I suggest a computer with a larger hard drive like 500 GB and up. This drive is pitiful and not designed for software installation. I returned mine today.
