• You can buy an external CD/DVD drive and connect it to this laptop via one of this laptop's USB ports. I bought an LG CD/DVD drive at Best Buy for about $20-$30 that I connected to my laptop (that I had bought at Best Buy) with similar specifications to this one. I only needed to load one older program (app) from CD/DVD, and it worked fine. It was easy to connect the CD/DVD drive with its included connection cable.

• You can attach a slimline external DVDwriter through USB port. If you have a dvd writer from your old laptop you can convert it to external DVD using DVD writer casing. Available online and at select offline electronic computer outlets . Accessories section. That’s why more USB ports are better. Unfortunately this laptop provides just 3 USB ports. A couple of more and dedicated RJ45 port would have been more convenient.

• This laptop does not have a built-in optical (CD) drive, however you can connect an external optical drive to this laptop.
