• I realize this is old post but as you prob know, as a student, you can get O365 for free.

• You can use the Microsoft Office Apps like Word, Excel or Powerpoint through the Chrome web store or the Google Play store. You can also use Office 365 on a Chromebook.

• No, you cannot download Microsoft Office to the computer. Microsoft does not make a version of Office for the Chrome OS. If you want to use MS Office, you will need to use the Office Web Apps online. The web apps are not as powerful as the stand-alone installs for Windows or MacOS, but it works well for most people.
