• I have been coding on Chromebooks for over a year. I use an online IDE like Shiftedit or Codeenvy - among other browser oriented tools

• Sure, I am running IntelliJ IDEA on it. YMMV depending on what IDE you're using.

• Am able to install GCC. Seems to be running, though I only checked on it before writing this response. In other words, I had trouble earlier. Actually working on a Desktop for coding now, so I wish my answers were more complete, in terms of having done a lot of builds, or whatever, on this Chromebook. So, no noticeable trouble in a GCC install. You may want to read my review about Bluetooth streaming to an audio output, however.

• This computer runs ChromeOS. If the code you are looking to write and possibly test will run on ChromeOS then it would work.
