Sorry, I can only answer 1 of your 3 questions. No you will not need a tower. The monitor and the computer are all-in-one.

If you were to turn off S Mode, it would still be the 32-bit version of the OS. For any software you would be interested in downloading, you will want to look at the system requirements from the developer's website and make sure it at least matches the specs for the settings you would like to use. Updates can change the system requirements and that might affect what settings you can use or if you can run the software at all. This is an All-In-One unit, so the main CPU is built into the screen. No external tower is needed and units like this tend not to have an HDMI input, but instead include an HDMI output in the case you would like to use a second screen.
