Does this computer come with a warranty null

The one-year factory warranty starts the day that it is manufactured not the day you purchase it. I called HP today and that's what they told me. My warranty only had 5 months left on it when I purchased it. As Best Buy Total member their protection plan is 2 years. One year if you are not a member.
