“Is this a really IPS, as the specs are not showing that, even on the other websites? I checked on various different sites and it appears that this screen is not IPS. Also, stopped by in my local BestBuy and didnt see it on the box either.”

According to HP's website and the box mine came in yes it is listed as an IPS display.
