Lets say I ran out of color ink, but still wanted to print documents using black ink ONLY (choosing the black and white option on my PC). Will the printer still print with just a black cartridge ONLY or does it require you to have all toners to operate? null

Thanks for the question!  No, a color laserjet requires that all 4 toners be installed and working to be able to print.

You are required to have all the cartidges installed, however if the colors run out, the black will still print. I am using my originally installed color cartridges from over a year ago (all ran out) and I have printed thousands of pages with the black toner cartridges (I have replace the black at leat 3 times).
