I would assume that is covered under the original factory warranty or any additional warranty you may have purchased for the printer and not covered by the instaink program

No, the print head is not covered by this. This is simply an automated INK ordering service and doesn't include any warranty on the printer or its components.

Good question. Instant Ink does not cover print head replacement, it is only a ink cartridge replacement plan. For printhead issues, HP Support is available.
