• The Actual cartridges are the same size, the difference is there is more ink in the 564XL cartridges.

• No, the XL has twice the ink.

• The XL cartridges supply more ink...supposedly about 2 or 2.5 more and last a bit longer than a regular ink cartridge. The box indicates how much more ink is provided.

• I've used both, they both fit into the printer just fine, but the xl is bigger and has more ink, I think it's like 2/3's more or right at double the ink. It's more expensive but cheaper than buying two individual units.
