*I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE BUT-I HAD MANAGED THE SETTINGS AND DID PRINT ON B/W INK WHEN THE COLOR WAS EMPTY ALTHOUGH I LEFT THE EMPTY CARTIDGE IN THE SLOT-NEW PRINTERS ARE GIVING REWARD PROGRAM WITH INK AND HAVING IT MAILED TO YOUR DOOR-BEFORE YOU RUN OUT-BEST BUY HAS THE FLYER DETAILS-LOW MONTHLY FEE/COST TO JOIN THE INK PROGRAM/REFILLS-ITS LESS THAN HALF OF WHAT YOU WOULD PAY IF YOU WERE NOT A MEMBER OF THE INK CLUB. 2015

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My HP printer will print B&W with an empty color cartridge. But, I only use and buy HP Printers that use two cartridges. I have an older 3 in 1 model Deskjet 2512. Will the newer HP printers do it? I don't know.
