If you received the ink cartridge from HP Instant Ink then it will not work if your subscription to the service has ended. Kind of a rip-off.

Try these cures in this order: Remove existing cartridges. Make sure all packaging materials have been removed. Reseat both ink cartridges (listen for the click), restart the printer. If that doesn't work and you're using genuine HP cartridges, there may be another problem, and we recommend that you reach out to HP Support for assistance, at 800-474-6836.
