• It does print in black and multi-colored. However you don't get the usage promised for the amount of money you spend on xl. You do spend quite a bit. However, it does not last long. I think with Kodak ink you get a better, if not the Best Buy for your money.

• This is a single set of color cartridges red blue yellow. They do mix to create some grayscale but you should have a black also. This set had only 3 color cartridges
