Joe you need to look on the box it will tell you what model that is what I had to do do not second guess it will tell you your model number on side of box if not there look at other ink boxes.

When I look at the cartridge design for your printer 4580 there is a great difference on the styles of the 934 and the 935 color I would say no but you can always check with HP they have charts on their website

I use it in my 6835. Check the HP website, it will tell you what ink to use for your device. The XL means it is a larger cartridge and it will last longer.

The compatible cartridges listed on the product box are HP Office Jet 6812 & 6815. and for HP Office Jet Pro 6230,6830, and 6835.
