• It comes with some sample ink that will get you by until you set up your free ink account. Then they'll send you that.

• It actually has the first ink in the Instant Ink program is the box with the printer. Assuming you sign up for the Instant Ink program, any ink that you need for the first three months will be sent free of charge. and then after that point, you're charged for the ink that you're going to use, although it will be about half the cost of buying it in the store.
