I would say the aqnswer is NO. I don't have a smart phone either and when I tried to set this printer up for 'wireless' it was impossible for me to do so. The solution I have come to live with is using it as a printer that needs to be connected to my laptop with a usb cable. It works just fine and does what I need. But it would've been nice to install it wirelessly to print from any room in the house.

Thanks for your question.  You can install the software / drivers with a computer, tablet, or smartphone.  You need an internet connection to download the drivers.
