You can still use the same printer cable, but these units are geared towards Wi-Fi. The models that end with the letter e are the HP+ units and they do come with Instant Ink cartridges. If you are not planning to connect it to a wireless network, you will need to buy standard ink with the unit. You can download the HP Smart app to help make it easier to use and control certain functions. On a Desktop/Laptop you will also be able to scan images up to 1200x1200 using the flatbed scanner.

Very easy to use. I just plugged it in the wall outlet. No usb needed. I set it up in my living room. Took time to setup but well worth the money
