“If the color cartridge is empty, will it still print in black and white?”

• Hi Reese, thank you for the question. The DeskJet 4255e can temporarily be used in single-cartridge mode by removing the color cartridge to print only black. Print quality may be affected depending on the document, as color cartridges are used when printing certain gradients within the black spectrum.
