I had the same issue after I purchased mine on August 9th of this year. Bestbuy wouldn't take it back because it died on me after the 15 day exchange policy. After contacting HP & being on the call for almost 3 hours, it finally came out that this particular laptop has a design flaw in the motherboard. That's all they would tell me & I had to send it in for warranty repair. I asked the technician that if the laptop had lasted 1 year (long enough for the warranty to run out) & then died, would I have to pay for this motherboard replacement out of pocket. He said yes. Somewhere in the amount of $380 plus tax. I then said I should be talking to a lawyer instead of him because HP knows of this flaw & is still selling the laptop. I don't know about anyone else but $1349.99 plus tax is a lot of money to me. I no longer recommend this HP Envy 17m-cg0013dx laptop.
