• I haven't noticed it being loud. I did have a Macbook before and that computer fan was very noisy.

• I think it is for these. It doesn't bug me only because it doesn't last long. I read somewhere that when there are more applications running that it happens on occasion. My computer is on most of the day, so maybe that's why. It doesn't heat up at all though. Not sure if that was helpful, but just sharing.
