Yes it was automatic. all updates were completed and registration.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Windows 10 will activate itself when installed and does not rely soley on the BIOS to do so. Once it connects to the Internet it will compare the unique component IDs of all the parts in the computer and activate Windows. This means that you could even possibly change the motherboard (and thus the bios) and still activate Windows 10. If you may have replaced too many components (unlikely if just replacing the drive) then when it tried to activate and fails it will give you a number to call to Microsoft who will then ask a few questions and then provide activation instructions.
