“Ink, has anyone experienced ink drying too fast? My current Epson printer experience, installed new ink cartridge, printed one document . ..weeks later, ink is now dry. Will this printer still print black if the color ink is dry?”

This is an HP 2-cartridge printer so the printheads are built into the cartridges (black and tricolor). Our exclusive feature, Single Cartridge Mode, allows you to print with only one cartridge -- just don't leave the empty one in. So you never have to buy color if you don't want to. Also, HP printers will automatically cap the cartridge after each use, so as long as you don't unplug the printer it should cap the cartridge and resist drying out. A printer left alone for 6 months will most likely have the ink cartridges dry out.
