Thank you for the question. Your printer has the option to print in black and white only (called single-cartridge mode) when the tri-color cartridge is not present. Please make sure that the tri-color cartridge is loaded properly, and reset the printer. You may need to uninstall the printer and then reinstall it using your USB cable.
