If you pick the 10 page per month plan it is .99 cents per month and goes up to $24.99 for 700 pages. The ink is only sent as needed and the printer notifies HP when the unit is running low on ink. You can request cartridges by contacting Instant Ink Support or by logging into your Instant Ink account. You would not be refilling the cartridges; HP would send you new ones with a prepaid shipping box to send the old ones back. You only pay the monthly fee for Instant Ink, no shipping charges, and you do not pay for the cartridges that get sent to you.
