• Thank you for your question! This HP Envy desktop comes with a 310W power supply which is designed to work with this desktop. An upgraded PSU is possible but not necessary. An external DVD player is your best option for disc playing with this PC.

• Changing the power supply would be really tough. Adding a DVD could be done.

• If you can get a higher wattage compatible PSU from HP, then yes you can. You can't add a DVD-R player. There's no slot for it in the case. You can use external one.
