I got an AMD 6600 RTX into the PCIE16, but it was a tight fit and I could have easily damaged the GPU with all the bending and twisting. I could have taken the back of the case off - which Geek Squad should have offered, but these GS guys have a HS diploma and make $12/hr. More importantly, the stock power supply is too weak to support more than a low end GPU and there are no connections on the stock power supply for you to connect external power to a GPU.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can add a more capable graphics card to this computer. There are limitations - the power draw of the add-on graphics card has to be fairly low (45 watts or less recommended), the add-on graphics card can't require an additional power connector from the power supply (there isn't an additional power supply wire/connector for an add-in graphics card on the power supply in the computer; and, as far is as known, the power supply for this computer can't be upgraded) and the space inside the computer chassis is somewhat limited for any add-in board (however, the computer does have sufficient head room for a full-size expansion board). In other reviews and answered questions, there are instances where others have successfully added in graphics cards. I suggest that you search for and read those reviews to get a good idea of what graphics cards that you can add into this computer. You might then want to share this information with your local Geek Squad!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would want to check with HP Support of Geek Squad in the case of upgrades. If they have stated no, they are experts and do not void the warranty by upgrading the machine. The new parts added would not be covered by HP. You can contact HP Support, but HP does trust Geek Squad.
