“I already use HP Ink with my HP 5540, have for at least 5 years I think. The old printer seems to have a carriage problem, and it seems easier to replace (off warranty) than to repair. Will my existing HP Ink membership transfer to the new printer?”

Yes, it will transfer. However I was also having issue with my old printer and I cleaned the head with alcohol and was able to keep printer and it works perfectly, gave it to my daughter
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it certainly will. If it doesn't do it automatically during printer setup, you can still do it by going to your Instant Ink page and putting the serial number (usually on the back of the printer) for the new printer in your account.
