“Are these up firing speakers? I see it has the bezel atop the keyboard but I also see on under 2 grilles on either side?”

• It has a speaker on each side. The grill on top of keyboard is not a speaker. Maybe ventilation, I don't know. But the audio driver fails on this model, I don't recommend you get this one at all.
