Because the computer does not have an Ethernet port, you'd need an adapter to go from an Ethernet cable in the back of the range extender to one of the computer USB ports. However, since the purpose of a range extender is to provide a WiFi signal over a longer distance, if the laptop is close enough to hard wire it to the extender, you'll get plenty of signal connecting it through the signal the extender provides.
