Just my experience, but the instant ink cartrages they send have way more ink than the regular store bought ones, and in my experience they havent dried up. I had the same issue, i only print a few pages every couple of months, but it has been six months now and everything seems to be working great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you don’t use the printer regularly, any cartridge will dry out. I occasionally remove them and cover them with plastic wrap to try to protect them in between use. Not sure it really helps.

As you might know, they are able to track the amount of printing you do monthly and will probably work with you to correct the problem. I had the same problem with another printer from a different company, (ink jets clogging from dried ink), and they just told me that it would probably be more economical to purchase a new printer rather than send it in for repair. I wasn't too happy with that answer since the printer was not really that old. They did offer me special discounts on their new printers, but prices were much better at other retail stores. If that hadn't happened, I wouldn't have tried this new HP printer or the ink program. Good luck!
