A:Answer I setup an older version of this at my parents and they have been able to almost go through two summers with the starter toner. Great thing about these guys is toner doesnt dry up like inkjets. Not even sure if HP ever packs a full toner in the box and why would they? It's a cheap printer. In regardes to a router, I'm not even sure if there is a way to easily network this printer without a router. Don't buy this if you don't want to buy a router and you want to wirelessly print. Apple Airprint and Hp's app, l believe, requires your device to be connected (wired or wirelessly) within the same network (using some type of router) to be able to access the printer without installing any additional software.
